DEAR ALISON, (I ADDRESS YOU THIS FOR IF THINGS DO NOT WORK OUT PROPERLY)

Dear Alison, (I Address You This For If Things Do Not Work Out Properly), Video installation, 2022, Explores the fusion of artificial life and humanity. The piece looks at how the presence of deception in media can create a questioning of reality.

This project explores concepts of reality and deception, and the boundaries between real life and digital life. combining physical drawings, sculptural objects and video to explore how people and things might exist both in a ‘real’ space and a digital space.

In this work, things from the digital world pass into our ‘real’ world, and real people enter the digital world through technologies such as gaming interfaces. The line between what is real and what is fake becomes more difficult to differentiate.

Will technology eventually replace us? Where will technology go in terms of implants and becoming a part of us. How much does technology need to evolve to allow us to have cyber implants and bionic limbs, or are we possibly already at that stage where we can start replacing larger parts of ourselves with computers?

Has Anyone Seen Terry?

Has Anyone Seen Terry is is an interactive experience featuring a digital video game that viewers can choose to engage with by using the game controller and audio headset. This piece uses sculpture alongside digital environments to explore the collision between reality and simulated life.
